Adoption is complex and has so many layers. Challenges and questions are going to inevitably come up when it comes to this type of complex trauma. As an interracial and international adoptee paired with my professional background in trauma and its impacts across the lifespan, I have the ability to provide a comprehensive and trauma informed perspective on topics pertaining to relinquishment, separation, displacement and adoption. Adoptees are and have historically been an underserved and marginalized population and it is a central focus of mine to shed light on the realities of adoption and promote awareness, understanding and healing.

Consultation Topics Include (but are not limited to):

-General psychoeducation

-Preverbal trauma

-What to know BEFORE adopting

-Core challenges faced by adoptees

-Adoption and Mental Health

-Parenting adoptees with a trauma informed approach

-Transracial/Interracial Adoption

-Attachment

-Search and Reunion

Consultation is available (and highly encouraged!) for adoptees, birth/first family members, perspective parents, adoptive families and professionals working with this population.
